The Belmont Far East Program will kick off in May 2005. Students will spend 3 weeks in China taking a course on The Asian Music Industry. They will leave shortly after the Spring 2005 semester & return immediately prior to the Summer I Semester. The Western Music Association presented Professor Don Cusic with the “Bill Wiley Award” for his “outstanding contribution to Western Music and the Western Music Association” at their Awards banquet in Albuquerque, New Mexico on November 20, 2004. The award is named after the founder of the Western Music Association. Cusic is the editor of their quarterly publication, “The Western Way.”
A special thanks goes out to Nick Firth, President of BMG Worldwide Publishing who shared his knowledge of the publishing industry with students as well as music row executives.
