Dress Up For St. Jude is a charity event a few music business friends founded in 2014. This event directly supports the music therapy program at St. Jude Children’s research hospital, a place that is close to many hearts. For those who aren’t familiar with St. Jude, their mission statement spells it out beautifully:
“The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of our founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family’s ability to pay.”
The event, which takes place tomorrow (10/6) in Nashville, will sell new & gently used dresses and accessories to the public to raise money for St. Jude.
The idea to sell dresses was born out of the fact that being a woman during awards season in Nashville could mean buying 6 (or more) dresses to wear, and the group of friends wanted to create sort of a music row dress-swap while raising money for a place they love. From last year, it has evolved from focusing on formal wear, to having any type of style and season so our eclectic community can stock up.
