The Nashville Entrepreneur Center (EC) joins Nashville based BTC Media, to announce Distributed: Music (The Blockchain Sessions). The sessions bring together blockchain and music industry thought leaders to explore potential applications and opportunities for the technology.
“Blockchain technology opens a new world of possibilities for music industry and the tech entrepreneurs exploring innovative solutions to the industry’s challenges,” states Heather McBee, the EC’s VP of Accelerator Programming, “We’re excited to partner with BTC Media to further the Nashville music community’s understanding of the blockchain and its applications.
BTC Media CTO Tyler Evans said, “The music industry today has an enormous opportunity to become a global leader in exploring and integrating blockchain technology. Blockchains have the potential to reduce friction and cost in managing intellectual property ownership, licensing rights and royalty payments.”

–David Hughes , the CTO of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) based in Washington, D.C., who spent more than a decade in pivotal strategy, technology, policy advocacy and related roles for Sony Corporation in New York and Japan, and with Sony Music Entertainment.

Alexander , the Dallas-based founder of eVue Digital Labs and creator of methods and resources for IoT, distributed networks, machine learning and AI contexts, enabling companies to measure, manage and predict trust within information-exchange processes.
–-Benjamin Bailer , the Munich-based president of Bailer Music Publishing (Munich, London, Nashville), which maintains a worldwide network of publishers.
–Marcus O’Dair , the London-based journalist, author, broadcaster, performer and session musician, who also convenes a research group on Blockchain for Creative Industries at Middlesex University, in London.
–Tim Dubois , an award-winning songwriter and former executive at ASCAP who also taught at Vanderbilt’s Owen School of Management. He has served on the boards of the CMA, Academy of Country Music, National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences and is a member of the Nashville Songwriters Association International.
–Tim Smith , the Nashville-based founder and CEO of MyWerx, an IP based meta management platform which connects creators and business owners of intellectual properties like songs, sound recordings, photos, software and videos.
