The Office of Student Enrichment and the Curb College faculty and staff are working hard to bring opportunities for YOU to learn about your passions and connect with the industry you want to work in! We have SO many great things happening daily in the Curb College and we need help telling the story of why Belmont’s Curb College is THE place for entertainment and music business education! WE know it’s true and YOU know it’s true, so let’s tell the world.
So, do you have an interest in Entertainment Journalism? We are looking for a volunteer team of 5 student leaders to serve as the Curb College Press Team. Covering all the great events and stories that happen in the Curb College, these students will be provided with real world experiences to cover events with some of the entertainment industries’ biggest names. We need students who are self-starters, interested in sharpening their writing skills and eager to make things happen!
As a part of the Curb College Press Team, you will work with two department advisors—Professor Sarita Stewart and Director of Development and Industry Relations, Sarah Cates.
Who we are looking for:
- Students interested in entertainment journalism and public relations.
- Self-starters, ready to get the story!
- Ready to commit 4-5 hours per week.
- Ability to interact with students, faculty, staff and executives.
- A great ambassador for the Curb College.
Press team members will:
- Cover 2-3 events per week capturing both the written story and visuals
- Pitch new story ideas to advisors for coverage on industry happenings that involve Belmont alums and success stories
- Submit stories with quick turn around to advisors
- Pride themselves on being IN THE KNOW about Curb College happenings and industry success stories
- Attend bi-weekly coverage/pitch meetings.
