Volunteers needed for Thistle Thursday (ASAP!)

CAA sponsors a monthly event at Thistle Stop Cafe called Thistle Thursday where they bring in local musicians for a benefit concert each month. They need volunteers for this Thursday’s event (December 4th) to help set up and tear down. Two volunteers would work 2:30-4. Please email Lisa Peterson at lisa.peterson@pop.belmont.edu if you can volunteer! She will reach out and connect you with the event contact.

ABOUT STEPHEN KELLOGG:
When Stephen Kellogg was growing up his musical interests were divided between his father’s record collection, devoted to ’70s singer/songwriters like Jim Croce and Cat Stevens, and his sister’s rock & roll discs, dominated by hair metal acts like Bon Jovi and Mötley Crüe. In a curious way, Kellogg’s music represents a meeting point between these two styles, with songs that delve deep into the personal, but make room for a sense of fun, while the music, which is intelligent and intimate, is also full of passion and electricity. Stephen has played more than 1400 shows in the last decade and made a life he loves complete with a career he’s proud of.

ABOUT THISTLE STOP CAFE:
Run by the Magdalene graduates and residents, women who have survived prostitution, trafficking and addiction, the Thistle Stop Cafe will sell Nashville-based and fair-trade coffees, teas and healthy catered foods. As with our product line, the food will be as good for the body as it is for the earth.

The Cafe will be a gathering place for the Nashville community and guests to Thistle Farms. A stage will give the women a place to share healing stories and provide opportunities for artists to showcase their creative works.
