The Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum is showing the film “Sound City,” followed by a Q and A session with three prominent recording studio professionals — Mark Miller, Ron “Snake Reynolds”, and Aaron Howard. The film, directed by Dave Grohl, focuses on the L.A. recording studio and the musicians who recorded there – legendary artists like Neil Young, CheapTrick, Tom Petty, Pat Benatar and the like. In Grohl’s own words, the film delves into the question, “in this age of technology, when you can manipulate everything, how do we retain that human element?”
Our panelists include:
– Ron “Snake” Reynolds of Snake Reynolds Productions, who has worked with greats such as Merle Haggard and George Jones.
– Mark Miller has played just about every role there is in a recording studio and most recently has been working on Garth Brook’s “Blame it on the Roots” and Paul Simon’s “Complete Album Collection.
– Aaron Howard, an Addy Award-winning music producer, is the Studio Manager at Hummingbird Productions and composed the music for the 2012 Summer Olympics Coke Commercial.
