If you haven’t heard of Annie Roboff, you have undoubtedly have heard her music. She (along with co-writers Beth Nielsen Chapman and Robin Lerner) won the 1999 CMA Song of the Year and ASCAP Song of the Year for Faith Hill’s “This Kiss”.
Her country songs are some of the most popular in recent years such as “This Kiss”, “There Goes My Baby”, “Happy Girl”, “Almost Home”, and “That’s The Way”. With songs performed by Faith Hill, Beth Nielsen Chapman, Martina McBride, Trisha Yearwood, Terri Clark, JoDee Messina, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and the Dixie Chicks, calling Annie Roboff a success would be an understatement!
She is recognized as a high-class songwriter by the company she keeps – her co-writers. Some of the best known names in music have collaborated with her. People like Beth Nielsen Chapman, Robin Lerner, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Marcus Hummon, Arnie Roman, Bob DiPiero, Will Jennings, and Phil Vassar.
Even if you haven’t gotten near country music, chances are that you’ve heard her music and didn’t know it. In fact, probably the most recognizable song to most sports fans was written by Annie. She wrote the original theme to ESPN’s “SportsCenter”. There is also the movies that her music has been presented in such as “Message In A Bottle”, “Practical Magic”, “Where The Heart Is”, “America’s Sweethearts”,and “The Prince of Egypt”.
