Belmont was highly rated on culture and commitment, admissions and orientation and academic policies and compliance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s an honor to once again receive this designation that recognizes Belmont\u2019s commitment to support our student veterans and military family members,\u201d said Dr. Mimi Barnard, associate provost for Interdisciplinary Studies and Global Education, home to Belmont\u2019s Veteran Success Team. \u201cBelmont faculty and staff are intentional in their goal of providing educational environments that support student veterans and military family members in meaningful ways.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Among the 1,200 institutions that participated in the survey, 746 schools received the designation, which serves as a resource for current military service members, veterans and military spouses. Being designated as a Military Friendly<strong><sup>\u00ae <\/sup><\/strong>School indicates greater support and better outcomes for veterans who attend these schools.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSchools who achieve designation show true commitment and dedication in their efforts,\u201d said Kayla Lopez, Military Friendly<strong><sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u00a0<\/strong>national director of military partnerships. \u201cOur standards assist schools by providing a benchmark that promotes positive educational outcomes, resources and support services that better the educational landscape and provide opportunity for the military community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Institutions earning the Military Friendly<strong><sup>\u00ae <\/sup><\/strong>School designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. The list will be published in the May issue of G.I. Jobs magazine and can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.militaryfriendly.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Methodology, criteria and weightings were determined by input from the Military Friendly\u00ae Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community. Final ratings were determined by combining the institution\u2019s survey response set and government\/agency public data sources, within a logic-based scoring assessment.
