This event was provided by the church for members and the community to participate in health screenings and education.<\/p>\n<p>Belmont\u00a0participants were divided into\u00a0two\u00a0areas\u00a0including a group who completed body mass index and\u00a0blood pressure\u00a0screenings. Students\u00a0provided handouts on both issues\u00a0as well as Belmont-branded gifts. The second group worked in the\u00a0Kids\u2019 Zone where they\u00a0provided two\u00a0table demonstrations on flu prevention\/hand washing and health lifestyle practices, including\u00a0jump ropes and opportunities to draw healthy foods on a poster board. All participating Belmont\u00a0students are enrolled in the Health Assessment course.<\/p>\n<p>Assistant Professor of Nursing and course instructor Dr. Tracy Wilson\u00a0said, \u201cOur students were able to demonstrate the skills they are currently learning by providing a service to a community that may not have access to medical care. We were able to connect with people, not only on a professional level but through the Christian-human experience.
