{"id":4139,"date":"2016-04-29T14:29:57","date_gmt":"2016-04-29T20:29:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/forum.belmont.edu\/health\/?p=4139"},"modified":"2016-04-29T14:29:57","modified_gmt":"2016-04-29T20:29:57","slug":"school-of-nursing-takes-pledge-on-opioid-education","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forum.belmont.edu\/health\/2016\/04\/29\/school-of-nursing-takes-pledge-on-opioid-education\/","title":{"rendered":"School of Nursing Takes Pledge on Opioid Education"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry clearfix\">\n<div class=\"post-thumbnail\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"nursing fall 2013-126\" src=\"http:\/\/i1.wp.com\/news.belmont.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/nursing-fall-2013-126.jpg?resize=888%2C377\" alt=\"\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Belmont\u2019s School of Nursing recently committed to educating advanced practice registered nursing (APRN) students on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention\u2019s (CDC)\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/mmwr\/volumes\/65\/rr\/rr6501e1.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Guideline for Prescribing Opioids for Chronic Pain<\/a>, as part of ongoing efforts to combat prescription drug and opioid abuse across the U.S. The commitment was featured in a White House fact sheet today as part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/champions\" target=\"_blank\">White House Champions of Change event on Advancing Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month,\u00a0administration asked the American Association of Colleges of Nursing\u2019s (AACN) member schools with APRN programs to partner on this initiative.
