Savor life. Since her diagnosis of stage 4 colon cancer at the age of 33, that is Sara Walker’s motto. It is the message she has been bringing to others. It is how she is living her life. You can follow her journey at caringbridge.org/visit/sarawalker.
“The Walker Run, Live for Today” is a fun run/walk produced by Belmont Physical Therapy Class of 2003 that is designed to help support Sara and her family as they walk this road and continue savoring life. Sara (Pigg) Walker attended Lipscomb University for undergraduate studies and graduated from Belmont University’s Physical Therapy program. Sara is married to Brian Walker and is the mother of two boys (ages five and three).

In January 2010, Sara started chemotherapy, in an aggressive treatment plan, also known as her “Victory Plan.” While Sara and Brian have expressed their thankfulness to us in our desire to host this race, their one stipulation is that everyone understands how the raised funds may be used. The Walkers have been given no restrictions on how these funds may be used. We fully trust their stewardship, and know they will use these funds as God directs.
The Belmont Physical Therapy Class of 2003 is excited to host this event and looks forward to expressing our love and support to Sara and her family. STAR Physical Therapy and the faculty of Belmont School of Physical Therapy have graciously extended their support as co-sponsors for this event. We hope that you will join us at 8:00am on April 9, 2011 at Brentwood High School to support Sara and her family. We encourage you to savor your own journey and participate in “The Walker Run, Live for Today”
The course description and a downloadable registration form can be found at thewalkerrun.weebly.com.
