The functions that are attached to many of Belmont's web pages top the list of projects that we have tackled. Several of those are complete. We are asking Hannon Hill for support to move the following projects along as top priority:
Question Block Code
The CRM (Customer Relationship Management) question that is a fixture on just about every web page on our site will undergo a change in philosophy and application. We're asking for assistance to develop what is called a code Block that can be inserted into a tempate. The block and the page associated with it will allow placement choice for the question and the option to leave it off the page completely. The change in data handling will also be re-programmed so that all questions will go to a single responder. First responses will then be recorded to look for patterns in questions and consistency in responses. This will also allow us to track our response times.
Profile Pages
Profile pages are heavily trafficed and need to be easier to use and re-task across the website. A Data Definition page is the direction we have chosen to take in the new system. Basically, when content creators want to create a profile page, their new page will be a form that requests everything from name, title/position, image(s), etc. All profiles across the univesity will be stored in a common area allowing us to build other applications that will use the same information. Moving away from the current, graphic-driven, system will speed up the process for creating and maintaining individual profiles.
(If you haven't left a comment here before, you may need to be approved by the site owner before your comment will appear. Until then, it won't appear on the entry. Thanks for waiting.)
I'm concerned about what you've said here about handling the "Question Block Code." Allowing for placement choice for the question is a good thing. Having all questions go to a single responder is not. We need to be able to designate who the Question Block Responder will be for each page (i.e. pages related to PBBA need to have the questions go directly to Casie). BUT...we also need to have a second, hidden recipient for the question (Jennifer Kiev).
It is this automatic second recipient that keys several critical processes for us. It's how we make sure that all web inquiries are handled in a timely fashion (and I'm not very interested in having somebody outside of UC keep up with this instead of doing it ourselves). It also sparks our follow-up communication series with prospects. We use the blind copy of web inquiries as a prompt to send out our snail mail pieces to the prospect and to prompt us to put them into our prospect database.
So, we really need to be able to: specify who the responder is "by page" and designate a second person, inside of UC, to receive all web inquiries.
Can this be done?
