Through much of the Spring 2006 semester, the university's web team met with the goal of designing a new look for the university's primary web site (www.belmont.edu). We reviewed web sites from other universities. We discussed expanding our appeal beyond a younger, undergraduate recruiting audience to embrace a wider audience: graduate students, the over 25 audience, and the Nashville/Middle-TN community in general. New recruiting materials and an expanded color palette proposed by Stein Communications provided foundational material for a new design. Morton Southall provided several options for evolving the current web site's function into something that combined features the team liked from other universities with the things that worked best on our current scheme.
Folowing approval from the web team, the new design received a nod from Belmont administrators...and we're off in the trenches to get the new site ready before Fall semester. Take a look at the enlarged view from the thumnail on this post...this is where we are headed. Watch for an upcoming post that will provide a link to look over our shoulder as we bring this page to life.
