Belmont hosts conference on Integrating Faith and Work

The Belmont University Center for Entrepreneurship and the Center for Business Ethics will host a half-day conference April 1 for entrepreneurs and corporate executives on the subject of Integrating Faith & Work: Building Your Business on a Solid Moral Foundation.

The half-day conference will focus on how religious principles can guide management thought and actions, and will feature a keynote address by Dr. Michael J. Naughton, internationally known co-author of the book Managing As If Faith Mattered: Christian Social Principles in the Modern Organization.

Naughton is an associate professor at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn., where he holds a joint appointment in the theology department and the Graduate School of Business, and is the director of the John A. Ryan Institute for Catholic Social Thought, which examines Catholic social thought in relationship to business, Catholic education and urban issues.

Professor Naughton's presentation will be followed by a panel discussion featuring:

Charles Hagood, managing partner of The Access Group,
Jim Van Hook, dean of the Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business (and former president and CEO of Provident Music Group),
Nancy Leach, president of Facility Planners Inc., and
Bob Wahlstedt, chairman, Reell Precision Manufacturing Corp.
The conference will be held in the Jack C. Massey Business Center on the Belmont University campus from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Registration is $30 per person and includes continental breakfast. For more information or to register for the conference contact Becky Gann at 615-460-6601.
