Brad Paisley To Receive Distinguished Alumni Award

bradpaisley.JPGCountry music superstar Brad Paisley will receive the Distinguished Alumni Award from Belmont University at a banquet during Homecoming festivities. Paisley, who graduated from Belmont in 1995 with a Bachelor of Business Administration, majored in music business at Belmont's Mike Curb School of Music Business.

Paisley is a three-time CMA award winning artist and the youngest member of the Grand Ole Opry. His first two albums were certified Platinum on the strength of such hits as "He Didn't Have to Be," "We Danced," and "I'm Gonna Miss Her." His current Arista Nashville album, Mud on the Tires, was released on July 22 and debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and No. 8 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart, fueled by the radio and video hit "Celebrity." An acclaimed songwriter, guitarist, and entertainer with three No. 1 singles and multiple Grammy Award nominations to his credit, Paisley has consistently demonstrated a gift for music that blends both humor and heart.

The Distinguished Alumni Award will be presented by Belmont University President Dr. Robert Fisher at the President's Alumni Homecoming Dinner at 6 p.m. Saturday, November 22nd.

Past recipients of the Distinguished Alumni Award from Belmont University include 1987 Belmont graduate and country music star Tricia Yearwood, who received the award in 1995.
