Belmont Area Has New Home for Live Music
September 23, 2003 – Belmont University has opened the doors on the new Curb Cafe, a restaurant and live performance venue on the Belmont campus along Belmont Boulevard. Two bands comprised of Belmont students, Upper Room and Quarter to Nine, were scheduled to perform on opening night of the Belmont neighborhood's newest eating live entertainment option. More Belmont student musicians and bands are scheduled for the remainder of this week.
The Curb Cafe will also provide an "open mic" for Nashville musicians of all genres, as well as comedians, poets, and other dramatic performers.
The Cafe is located on the ground floor of Belmont University’s new Curb Event Center, and seats 178 people indoors. It also offers outdoor patio seating. The intimate coffeehouse-style performance venue is designed for both the Belmont University family and the surrounding community and offers menu choices from the Sky Ranch Grill, Pete’s Arena Pizza, and Salsa Rico Fresh Mexican Grill, along with Starbucks® coffees.
