John Perkins Speaks at Belmont During MLK Festivities
The Rev. John Perkins spoke at Belmont University today as a part of the Martin Luther King, Jr., Celebration hosted by the Office of Spiritual Development. Perkins is a civil rights leader and founder of the Christian Community Development Association (CCDA), a national organization of urban Christians serving the poor. CCDA, founded in 1989, has grown from 37 founding members to 6,800 individuals and 600 churches, ministries, institutions and businesses in more than 100 cities across the country.
