Belmont's Rick Byrd Named Coach of the Week by College Insider
Belmont head men's basketball coach Rick Byrd was named to College Insider's weekly honor roll as coach of the week. Belmont improved to 5-0 in the Atlantic Sun and to 11-5 overall. This past week the Bruins racked up victories against A-Sun rivals East Tennessee State, Kennesaw State and Mercer. Belmont faces rival Lipscomb University Friday night in the Curb Event Center when Belmont hosts the Battle of the Boulevard. The last time Belmont and Lipscomb faced each other, the Bruins captured the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament championship and earned their first berth to the NCAA Championship Tournament.
