Nashville's "Incredible Baby Shower" Held at Belmont University
The 2006 Incredible Baby Shower was held in the Curb Event Center at Belmont University on October 4 from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. and provided pregnant and parenting teens and adult moms a connection to free resources to help insure that mom and baby are healthy, and stay healthy, from pregnancy to early child development. The Incredible Baby Shower featured presentations and topics concerning labor and delivery, newborn care and parenting, healthy lifestyles and pre-natal care.
Participants in the baby shower included women in WIC and TENNCare, uninsured women, pregnant high school teens, Metro Public Health Department volunteers, community agencies, local consultants, members of faith-based communities, corporate sponsors and community partners.
Event sponsors included the Metro Public Health Department, March of Dimes, Tennessee State University, Belmont University, various vendors and various community agencies that provide services for infants, children and youth.
