USA Today Features Belmont Freshman Alysha Clark

clark2.jpgToday's edition of USA Today features Belmont women's basketball star Alysha Clark, one of only four freshman women basketballers in the country averaging more than 10 points and 10 rebounds per game. Clark is a big reason the Bruins have a 20-6 record regular season record and are in first place in the Atlantic Sun Conference with a 16-3 conference record after defeating Lipscomb 72-64 on Tuesday. Clark is second in scoring in the A-Sun at 20.4 points a game (13th nationally), second in rebounding at 10.7 (17th nationally) and first in field-goal shooting at 56.7% (21st nationally). Belmont returns to action on Saturday in its final regular season game. The Bruins host Florida Atlantic at the Curb Event Center with opening tip scheduled for 5:30 p.m. The winner of the game will earn the top seed at the 2006 Atlantic Sun Tournament and win the regular season title outright.
