Elliott pens Number One Song with Steven Curtis Chapman
James I. Elliott, assistant professor in the Curb College of Entertainment & Music Business at Belmont, recently returned to the top of the Radio & Records Inspirational chart as co-writer of "Believe Me Now," the latest single from Steven Curtis Chapman’s All Things New album. The hit single spent 16 weeks on the national chart and marks the fourth time Elliott has co-written a number one song with Chapman.
"Believe Me Now" is Elliott’s second hit single of the year. In April his collaboration with artist Russ Lee, "Sweetest Sound," made the Top Ten on the Radio & Records Inspirational chart. Elliott teaches music publishing and public relations at Belmont. With nearly 90 recorded songs to his credit, Elliott has been honored by ASCAP, NSAI, American Songwriter Magazine and the Gospel Music Association.
