Harrington comments on music CD price cuts

harrington.bmpDr. E. Michael Harrington, Professor of Intellectual Property & Music Business in the Mike Curb College of Entertainment & Music Business at Belmont University, is quoted in this story from the Sunday Tennessean about a major record label's recent decision to slash the price of music CDs.

''I hope they do like the airlines do — one cuts fares and then the others have to,'' said Michael Harrington, professor of music business at Belmont University, who called the cuts a boon for music fans. ''This is one of the obvious things the industry should have done. If CDs came down to $10, it would stop some of the downloaders."
