Belmont Mission Team Invites You To Follow Mission Trip Online

Belmont University students, faculty and staff participating in a 10-day evangelistic mission trip to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, later this month will be providing regular updates online at a new weblog created just for the trip.

The Rio Journal, located at http://forum.belmont.edu/rio/, will provide text reports, images and video from the 2004 Sports Evangelism Mission Trip, a joint venture sponsored by the Tennessee Baptist Convention and the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.

The Rio-bound sports-evangelism team lead by legendary former Belmont basketball coach and current assistant athletics director Betty Wiseman includes members of Belmont's basketball teams, and Belmont University staff members. The Rio Journal web page will provide news and reflection from members of the team during the May 17-27 mission trip.

The team will work in three different areas of Rio conducting basketball clinics, working in local schools and churches, and sharing their personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Members of the team will have opportunities for large and small group discussions, along with one-to-one witnessing. The trip is coordinated through the Tennessee Baptist Convention Partnership Missions Department.
