The Road to Athens Olympics Runs Through Belmont
Belmont University's Curb Event Center will host a portion of the 2004 U.S. Gymnastics Championships 2004 U.S. Gymnastics Championships June 2-5, 2004, which will determine national champions and U.S. national team members, and help choose the athletes who will compete at the 2004 U.S. Olympic Trials later that month.
The Olympic trials determine the make-up of the U.S. Olympic Team that will compete later this year in Athens, Greece.
Nearly 200 of America’s best gymnasts will compete throughout the four-day competition, including 2003 World All-Around Champion Paul Hamm, plus members of the silver medal-winning men’s 2003 World Championships Team. Women expected to compete include 2003 World All-Around silver medalist Carly Patterson, World Uneven Bars Champions Chellsie Memmel and Hollie Vise, and 2000 Olympian and two-time National Champion Tasha Schwikert.
The Curb Event Center will host the Trampoline, Tumbling and Rhythmic Gymnastics events, while the Artistic Gymnastics events will be held at the Gaylord Entertainment Center.
The Championships will be televised nationally on NBC Sports, with women’s event finals from 2-3 p.m. EST on June 5 and all-around finals 1-3 p.m. June 6.
All-session ticket prices range from $55-$150 and include all men’s, women’s, rhythmic, and trampoline & tumbling events. All-session tickets can be ordered through the Gaylord Entertainment Center box office at 615-770-2040. Individual session tickets are available and range from $10-$35.
