Belmont Mansion Sets Tourism Record, Extends Hours
Belmont Mansion, the historic mansion on the campus of Belmont University, has increased its operating hours to accommodate growing tourist attendance. The historic home of Adelicia Acklen welcomed a record number of tourists in 2003, up 47 percent over the year before, as the mansion - the largest house museum in Tennessee - celebrated its 150th anniversary year with an array of exhibits and special events.
As a result, Belmont Mansion will now be open 7 days a week year-round with hours Monday – Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Belmont Mansion is also online at www.belmontmansion.com, where Internet visitors can learn more about one of the wealthiest women in the South during the Civil War Era, and the mansion she left as a legacy.
Belmont Mansion is located in the middle of Belmont University’s campus. For directions or more info call 460-5459.
