MEDIA ALERT: Community Open House at Belmont's New Complex
Belmont University is inviting the Nashville community – and most especially its neighbors who live near campus – to a Community Open House on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 11 a.m. to 2. p.m. at the university's new $52 million entertainment and student life complex. This will give the Nashville community an opportunity to tour Nashville's newest entertainment venue, the $52 million Curb Event Center arena, Beaman Student Life Center and Maddox Grand Atrium complex.
THIS IS A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY FOR A BEHIND-THE-SCENES LOOK AT THE FACILITY, WHICH IS A FINALIST IN THE COMPETITION TO BE SELECTED TO HOST A 2004 PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE.
While touring the facility, our guests on Saturday will be able to try out the large climbing wall inside the Student Life Center, and there will be face painting, activity booths, food, fun and prizes, making the open house a free family-oriented event.
Complex Facts:
The complex is an amazing addition to the Belmont University Campus, and to the neighborhood and the Nashville community.
The Beaman Student Life Center, with its centerpiece rock-climbing wall, offers attractive casual seating areas, a full-court basketball gymnasium, two indoor racquetball courts, dedicated aerobics room, weight rooms, offices and meeting rooms for student organizations, student locker rooms and a convenience store, and is equipped with wireless Internet access.
The Curb Event Center, the new 5,000-seat home of the NCAA Division I Belmont Bruin basketball teams, will host the 2004 Atlantic Sun Men’s Basketball Tournament. The state-of-the-art arena is designed to host major music and entertainment events, wired to support live television broadcasts, and also is home to the Curb Café, Nashville's newest live performance venue. It is on the short list of potential sites to host a presidential campaign debate in 2004
The Maddox Grand Atrium is an expansive anteroom finished with polished terrazzo flooring, rich cherry-stained wood and moldings, ceramic tiles, and elegant art works, and will be used for receptions, dinners and concerts. It connects the Curb Event Center and the Beaman Student Life Center.
