Thorndike Elected to Alpha Chi National Council

Local resident, Dr. Jonathan Thorndike, was elected to the position of Region III secretary-treasurer of Alpha Chi at the honor society’s national convention in March. Dr. Thorndike is the sponsor of Belmont University’s Alpha Chi chapter and is an associate professor in the Honors Department.

As secretary-treasurer, he will automatically serve on the National Council of Alpha Chi. Alpha Chi is an honor society recognizing the academic achievement of juniors and seniors from all academic fields who rank in the top 10 percent of their class. Alpha Chi membership is the highest academic honor awarded by Belmont University. Alpha Chi members are nominated by the faculty and must display leadership, integrity, and service.
