Disney, Disney..and more Disney

It's the first week back from Spring Break and I feel like I've already been here for a month. It's also weird knowing that there's only a month left until summer. I can't believe the semester has come to a close so quickly. On the upside, I had a good Spring Break 08! I just went back to good ole Franklin, TN and spent time with the fam, did a couple photo shoots, when to a show, and spent time with friends. It was all the makings of an incredible week and a half!

The End is Near!

Well, Spring Break is over and it's time to get back to work again...but only for the next four weeks! I can't believe that the end of the year is so close. It seems like just yesterday I was unloading boxes from my car and anticipating what college classes would be like. In a way, this year has flown by, yet I also feel like it's been a long year because I've learned so much through this huge transition in my life. It was great to spend time relaxing at home over the break; it's hard to be away from your family for three months! My brother is taller than me now, so that means that I am officially the shortest one in our family. He and my dad got to spend some time in Phoenix, AZ at the Royals' spring training baseball games. They had a great time. As for my mom and I, we got to have a spa day! I had my very first massage and I also got a spa pedicure. What a great way to relax!

A "High-Five" Kind-of-Experience...

I honestly cannot believe that it is already March 19, 2008. Today was my last day of classes. I am definitely burnt out from homework, tests, papers, and group projects. Thankfully, it is now spring break!

So The Break Is Here...

So the break is upon us. I have two more classes tomorrow, and they're easy classes at that, Psych Lab and Weight Training, and then I'm free for a week and a half. I'm really excited. I'm staying in Nashville over the break, and even though I'm sad that a lot of my friends are going home, I'm really excited to have some time to myself. Plus, a handful of my friends will be around and we're gonna hang out and watch movies and have discussions about social justice and great things like that, so it should be good. IMG_1093.jpg

Ready for a Break!

This weekend my roommate and I escaped to her house, in Franklin, for a much-needed break. Her parents and siblings are spending a couple of weeks in Kansas City, so Raychel (my roommate) and I had the house to ourselves! On our way out to Franklin, which is about 15 minutes south of Belmont, we stopped at Wal-Mart to pick up a few snacks. We originally planned to get brownies and ice cream…but somehow we ended up leaving with both of those items, plus chocolate chex mix, chocolate cake, hot chocolate, and chocolate chips. DSCN2241.JPG After baking a batch of what were possibly THE BEST chocolate chip cookies I’ve ever had in my life, Raychel and I settled in on the couch with our chocolate treats and watched the movie version of the musical “Rent.” It was a very interesting movie. I really enjoyed the music and I learned how many minutes are in one year: 525, 600! Raychel and I had that song stuck in our heads all night.

Broken Circuits, Birthdays, and Brad Paisley!

I had a sudden urge to express this series of unfortunate events, if you will...and this seemed to be the best way possible. Ok so yes..it's like 3 in the morning. I really should be well into a great night of sleep..however, I'm having an allergic reaction to the universe which is preventing me from enjoying much on anything right now. Morbid? Yes. Who cares. If your life was anywhere near as weird, awkward, and unfortunate as mine, then you'd understand how I feel.

Isn't Everything?

pictureofcoolfriendz.jpg

I’m going to make a difference. At least a difference in my own life. So far, 2008 has definitely been quite satisfying and rewarding. It is not what I expected. But instead, it is so much more. All of the insecurities of wondering what the beginning of this year would hold were washed away like a tide set against a yellow-and-orange painted sunset sky. Lately, I am extremely thankful for the changes that God has been making in my life. For starters, my friends basically rock. And secondly, this semester is turning out to be quite fun! (Despite the homework.)

A Weekend of R & R

This weekend proved to be a much-needed break for me. I know we've only been back in school for a couple of weeks now, but I already feel like I have so much to do! I like staying busy, but it's always nice to have some down time. I went to two basketball games this weekend: the Belmont men's game and the Vanderbilt men's game. DSCN2113.JPG Both teams won and I had a lot of fun at the games. I'm looking forward to the Belmont vs. Lipscomb game on February 22nd. My mom will be in Nashville that weekend so hopefully we will be able to go.

Home

christmastree.jpg

Lately – it seems as if the word “Home” is a state-of-mind. The accumulation of exams, final projects, and any extra work is coming to an end. I can already taste my dad’s home-made snickerdoodle cookies and my mom’s knock-you-off-the-seat-of-your-pants chicken-dumpling soup. Until then, I have to settle for meals in the “caf” and sub sandwiches from Belmont’s ‘Corner Court.’

Crazy Week

photoforblog.jpg

This week has definitely been busier than I expected it to be! I moved into Bruin Hills – and am definitely content with the living situation. Along with the move – I’m learning to adjust to the responsibilities which automatically tag along with being a Resident Assistant. Nonetheless, I am bombastically excited for what the future holds.

November? Already?!

pumkins2.jpg
What a week. I am so thankful that it's Friday because I'm definitely ready for a weekend! I had a great Halloween...I went over to my SLA’s (Spiritual Life Assistant) house for homemade chili, a pumpkin-carving contest (my pumpkin won!) and, of course, a costume party (I was a Confederate soldier). It was so much fun and it gave me a much-needed break from homework.

Today is Halloween. I cannot believe how quickly time has flown by. This past week has been manic – and at the same time – very exciting! There's No Place Like Home

I did it! I packed my bag, I printed off my Southwest boarding pass exactly 24 hours before the flight (and got an “A”!), I went through security, I found my gate, I boarded the plane and…I made it home! I know this shouldn’t seem like a huge accomplishment for an 18-year-old, but it was for me! First of all, I am terrified of flying. For some reason I always have this completely irrational fear that the plane is going to crash or that there’s going to be more turbulence than I can handle. I had never traveled alone before and I had definitely never flown by myself prior to last weekend. I was confident that I could make it and I was really looking forward to seeing my family so that motivated me!

Fallin' into Break...

jhb.jpg

Fall Break was a bombastic time. Thursday consisted of spending the afternoon at Centennial Park with a few friends. The cool brisk weather almost immediately places me in a good mood! I'm rarely ever in a bad mood but I most definitely am lovin' this fall weather. On Friday, I rested most of the afternoon and once evening rolled around, a few buddies and I went to McDougal's for scrumptious chicken tenders and southern sweet tea. And to cap off the night -- we grabbed some ice cream at Ben & Jerry's and headed back to Belmont for the women's soccer game. It gets better...

I'm a tourist.

blogphoto1.jpg

I am obsessed with taking photographs. I thoroughly appreciate the art of taking some rock-awesome photos. Sometimes – the light is almost perfect to capture the essence of the simplest things in life. This past weekend, I traveled fifteen miles south to Franklin with a buddy of mine to catch some cool shots. To say the least – it was quite a productive fall afternoon! I only wish the weather would cool down somewhat! My friends think I’m crazy because I take my camera everywhere with me! But, nonetheless – I enjoy bringing out those rock-awesome tourist qualities around Nashville-town on a daily basis.

Loving it here!

Wow. This week has been awesome! I don't even know where to begin...

One thing I haven't mentioned yet is that I absolutely love listening to and making music. I have played the piano for 12 years and although I don’t plan on majoring in it, music has always been my favorite form of artistic expression. One of my roommates, Bethany, also plays the piano and her major is Commercial Music (she's incredibly talented). She actually brought her brand-new keyboard with her and put it under her lofted bed. I love listening to her play and sometimes it makes me think that I might like to continue with my music.

Towering Traditions and Exciting Transitions

Hello there! My name is Alex and I’m a freshman at Belmont this year! I am from Kansas City so it was a long drive to Nashville, but I’m very excited to be here!! My major is currently Undecided but I’m leaning toward Elementary Education. I absolutely love working with kids and Belmont’s 4 + 1 Masters Degree program for education majors would be a great opportunity to take advantage of.

AlexLet me preface this entry by saying that these past three weeks at Belmont have been absolutely life-changing for me. There is no way I could possibly express how welcomed I have felt since my first day here or how much I love everything about this place. One consistent characteristic of Belmont, and perhaps what I love most about it, is the genuine hospitality of everyone here. People make eye contact with each other. Strangers greet each other with a “Hey! How are you?” There is just such a sense of community and optimism here and I love being a part of it.

Breakin' In The New Freshmen

JoshWhen my class came in just a couple of years ago, everyone was just amazed how big the class was and how academically qualified we were. But fast forward to now, this class easily beat my incoming class by a few hundred, and from what I hear they are more qualified academically as well. This just shows how the culture and standard surrounding Belmont is quickly changing and growing with each class. The vibe here on campus is much different from years past as far as the start of school. It seems like the freshmen brought an extra boost of energy to campus and it can be noticed on everybody's faces.

But no matter what, I'm STILL the "Big Man on Campus" (pun intended) and I feel like it's my job to sort of break the newbies into campus. Don't worry, I do so in a nice manner. Well, unless you're this guy. He should have listened to me the first time. This is what happens, I will squish you until you give in. I ought to make this a tradition, but I really could see a lawsuit coming from this. Actually, I had some freshmen over my apartment to hang out a few nights ago, and since he was a big guy as well I just wanted to let him know that I'm the upperclassman.

Long stretch of Highway...

I’m typing out this blog on another one of those blistering-hot Nashville evenings. Summer, quicky fading into the past leaves only a trail of sticky and balmy days. The anticipation of making new friends and re-kindling the sparks of those from the previous school year leaves me speechless. Am I ready for an abundance of homework – those every day spiritual highs-and-lows – and the opportunity for individual growth is nothing short of a miracle...

OK, so maybe I'm not reunited with any of my Belmont buddies yet (Although my friend Molly and her boyfriend Patrick might be visiting this week!), but I'm definitely getting close! Because I'm an SLA (Spiritual Life Assistant), I get to return to campus on August 12th-- a week ahead of everybody and I'm so excited about it! I get to go through SLA training with a lot of awesome people and a lot of cool friends. I'm also really excited about Welcome Week and helping the freshman get all set for their first day on campus! It seems like just yesterday I was going through the same thing. Gosh, the year, and the summer, have flown by! Now I feel like a veteran at the college thing-- I've got the hang of it and I'm ready to return. Yes, I'm even ready for classes to start again.

BU2U - The Trifecta!

This past couple of weeks have been a lot of fun, but very busy. First off, summer classes are STILL going pretty good. I got an A in International Business last summer session, and as of now I have an A in Business Law, as well. If you don't love school, I wouldn't suggest taking summer classes at all because it's hard to change your mindset from being relaxed to class mode during the summer. But I can say that I'll be ready for classes in the Fall, not to mention everybody coming back to Nashville. But back to BU2U, I went to three cities for the first time Memphis, Knoxville, and Cincinnati. I have great things to say about each city, because each city was very unique in it's own way.

A Much Needed Break

So, I just returned from my trip to Kentucky and Chicago. It was pretty much amazing. First up, Kentucky. I flew in on Thursday the 19th. It's really just a beautiful state, and I got to hang out with one of my most beautiful friends, Devon Graves. Her house is just awesome and really old and Victorian, and I loved it. So, I got to meet her family. Her sisters are awesome and her parents are cool. I also got to see her play two shows. One at Borders and then one at the Farm where she works. They were both awesome, and it helped me remember how much I love Devon's music. We also went to the Harry Potter release party at Borders, and we made shirts, and we dressed up (I wore a tie), and we had an awesome time.

I'm coming to a town near you.

This summer has just flown by so fast, and I can remember when I could sleep all day because summer classes hadn't begun yet. But that was a while ago. A lot of good things have been happening this summer, like me and my mom went up to Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom and rode every ride possible. It was a blast except for the heat, but don't worry that was fixed by going to the water park. And probably one of the coolest things will be going on over the next two weeks. So what exactly do I mean? I'm talking about BU2U, and it's a way to bring the Belmont community closer to you. For people living in the Knoxville, Memphis, and Cincinnati, OH areas, be looking for me along with other current students and admissions counselors who will come and talk about Belmont and Nashville.

Weekend To Remember

Miami Beach.jpg
So this past weekend one of my good friends from school, Molly, who'll be studying abroad in Spain Fall semester, came to visit. This was one of the most fun weekends this summer. Molly came in on Friday and we went to Wal-Mart and I bought my camera (The lovely Canon SD1000). It put a little dent in my bank account, but it's totally worth it, what with it being able to capture all the good times I had this past weekend and future fun times. Anyways, Molly and I got to hang out on Friday and catch up on each other's summers. She got to meet my family, and it was kind of funny how easily she fit in. Saturday we went to Miami Beach (the picture up top was taken in the surrounding downtown area) and had tons of fun in the heat. Molly ended up with sunburn because she refused to wear sunscreen... it was kind of funny actually. Then later on Saturday, we went to Barnes and Noble and read Children's books to each other.

Best Week Of The Summer.....So Far

The past week or two have been really good for me. It''s probably one of the few times that I can sincerely respond "I'm doing great" when someone asks how I am doing. Why, you may ask? First off, I just found out that I now have an apartment for the school year. Even though it is on the fourth floor, I couldn't care less because that means no more living in the dorm, ever. Oh okay I know that I said that "my dorm is way cooler than the apartments," but that's because I forgot what it was like to have your own space. Don't get me wrong the dorms are pretty cool because there is always folks around to hang out with and go to the cafeteria with you, but nothing gets better than Hillside.

Makin' Music

This past weekend I traded in my Epiphone Studio Les Paul for this Fender SonoranFENDER+SONORAN+SCE.JPG. I have to say, so far, I'm very pleased with the decision. As far as music goes, I'll listen to stuff that rocks, but I don't really play it, so the acoustic stylings suit me much better. I used this beauty to lead worship this past Sunday for the first time in front of the whole church. It was quite cool, and every one was really encouraging. This summer for the most part has been pretty hectic, with going to class and trying to find a job. But when school first ended and people were headed back home and on their vacations and such, I was still here on campus packing up to move into my apartment. For the first few weeks of the summer, I was bored out of my mind. It has been absolutely beautiful in the little town of Franklin, TN! Everyday, I wake up to the perfect summer weather. The sun is practically begging me to go to the pool. I’m convinced! Who's The Nanny?

amaryahblog.bmp
So from Saturday Night until Wednesday afternoon I am playing Nanny for two of the cutest kids on the planet(See the picture? I wasn't lying. John Deric has the dark hair and Simon has the light hair). Taking a break from my job at the church (I moved from being stuck in an office, to stuck in a house) John Deric and Simon have now occupied my attention. Anyways, though I have 3 younger siblings, I never knew taking care of young kids could be such a challenge, especially when I woke up and didn't feel like I had any energy. Then we had a football throwing incident (John Deric broke a glass), but overall the days have been fun. We've been watching videos (lots of veggietales and donut man), playing outside in the sandbox, playing with toy dinosaurs, and reading Dora the Explorer storybooks. Having the kids shout out lines like, "Swiper no Swiping!", or, "Hola! I'm Dora." Seriously, kids make my life. Sure, they're tough, but they are so precious and truly are a gift from God.

Time Flies When You're Working 9 to 5

Wow, the month of May has flown by at a breakneck speed. It feels like I just got home when in reality, I've been here for three and a half weeks. Helping to keep the weeks flying by is my trusty office job at the church. I sit around doing secretarial work, filing, organizing, cutting out little paper shirts for Vacation Bible School... you know, the good stuff. No, but really, I love working here. The people are fun and I've grown up here so it's cool to be able to give back a little. Although last Thursday I had to stamp and label over 400 postcards... I'm not sure I want to give back that much.

S.O.S. (Same Ol' Summer)

Well, nothing much has changed for me since classes ended. A couple of weeks ago, I got a new job working about 15 minutes outside of Nashville. So far it seems okay, but it is just really busy all the time. I really appreciate this job because it forces me to multi-task and keep up several procedures. I do everything from take deliveries and stock food to waiting and serving tables. Don't get me wrong, the job isn't bad at all, but I am really lazy. See, working and Josh Homer don't really go together... it's more like an acquired taste. The more I work and get used to it, it starts to make more sense and go together.

Missing Belmont already!!

Hey guys!

It's only been a week and a half since my last exam. I feel like I just moved out yesterday; maybe because I'm still living out of my suitcase. The End Is Near

Jeez, the year's flown by so fast. But the fun is not quit over yet. The 3rd Annual Finals Week Street Fiesta Belmont (linkage) is looking to kick it up a notch. I'm excited to taste the food, hear the music, and see the colorful displays. hotfish.jpg

Well, with school almost over, it's kind of bittersweet right now. I really don't want to go home, but at the same time, I know I must. It's going to be hard to say goodbye, and I've already had to say it to a few people. Freshman year has gone by so quickly. It's so crazy, and I can't believe it's done already. But it has been so worthwhile. I wouldn't trade it for anything. I know God has a plan for me placing me here, and I'm excited to see what He's going to do in my life over the summer and next year at school as well.

Greek God 2007

Each sorority or fraternity here at Belmont has philanthropy. There is one specific organization that we promote and raise money to help. The girls of Phi Mu do a lot around campus to support the Children's Miracle Network, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children’s hospitals across North America. This past Wednesday, the girls of Phi Mu put on a male beauty pageant in order to raise money for Children's Miracle Network.

What a Crazy Week!

Wow, this week was one of the most, if not the most, hectic weeks of my long, but young college career. For starters, the CMT's had one side of campus blocked and heavily secured for the big awards show. Don't get me wrong it was kind of cool to see stars and celebrities just roam campus at their leisure. Well, maybe just the roped off areas. Don't get too happy as we didn't get to see them up close, because all the guys were talking about this girl named Carrie. She's supposed to be this big country star, but I don't really keep up with country music. Two, I am a huge NBA fan and the playoffs are starting up this week and my team of course, and the best team, the Dallas Mavericks, are going to win it all this year. Also, this means that there will actually be something worth watching for about a month and a half until the playoffs are over.

CMT Awards!

The CMT Awards came to Belmont Monday night and I am proud to say that I was there to witness them. In the front row, right next to the presenters to be precise. I am obsessive with country music, so the whole situation was a dream come true to me.

blog1.jpg I was with awesome friends (as you can see in the picture), listening to amazing music, and standing literally three feet away from some of my favorite musicians ever! We even got to shake hands with a bunch of the presenters and performers! It was an awesome experience, and worth every one of those six hours waiting in line to get in.

On a more serious note, Monday was also a day of great tragedy. What happened at Virginia Tech is still hard for me to fathom. My heart goes out to all of those people affected by it.

College: A Great Experience!

belltower.jpg

This past Saturday, my buddies and I attended a Carrie Underwood rehearsal for the CMT Awards. This phenomenal vocalist performed her smash-hit, “Before He Cheats.” The CMT Awards are held right here in Belmont’s very own Curb Event Center! By the way, Carrie Underwood put on a rock-awesome performance!

In relation to the awards, I am definitely anticipating the exciting performances from artists such as Martina McBride, Kenny Chesney, and Bon Jovi! I cannot wait for this evening as it will be one of the most exciting nights thus far at Belmont! Click here to read more about what will be going on this evening with the award ceremony!

As I glance at my planner, I notice that I have three tests this week. I have prepared myself to the best of my ability this past weekend. I have a test in Microeconomics, a test in Calculus, and finally, another in Public Relations. I guess this is not the most amazing part of college, however I believe that good always comes out of a challenging situation! Furthermore, I cannot believe that there are only 3 ½ weeks of school remaining! It seems like second semester just began! With that said, I will definitely miss all of my friends throughout the summer months!

It's Almost Here!

Yes sir, I am a couple of days away from not being a teenager anymore. That's right, I'm going to turn the BIG 20 this Wednesday the 11th. I can already feel myself getting older every day. I'm finally getting a mustache and starting on a goatee. This isn't fair because all of my friends have had lots of facial hair since high school, and I'm a sophomore in college just now getting a few whiskers. Another reason why I feel like I'm old is because I sleep every chance I get in a split-second. As soon as my classes are done for the day, I head back to the dorm and take a nap every day. See, if that's not an old man I don't know what is. Last year, I didn't really do much on my birthday but eat some cake, but this year I am going to try and have a party and do it real big. Hey, you only turn 20 once right? Next year's birthday party will be the big one to remember, but that's a long ways away. For now I'm just going to enjoy being 20.

Bob "The Builder" Fisher

Habitat.jpg
Ok, so this entry has nothing to do with President Fisher (I thought it would be a fun title), but it has everything to do with building. This past Saturday I was able to participate in a Habitat For Humanity (More info on Habitat here) build with a handful of my friends. It was pretty awesome. We worked on the roof trusses, and then we put in a window before we had to head out. Loads of fun all around, and I kept my tool belt cause I'm klepto and do things like that. Just kidding, I honestly just forgot to return it.... I swear.

Those Chic Greek's!

PhiKTau Formal.jpg Last weekend I attended the annual Phi Kappa Tau (For more about Greek Life at Belmont Click here) Founder's Day Formal, which was pretty much awesome. I wasn't even expecting to go when my friend Alex called me up and asked if I would be his date. We had a great time dancing the night away with a lot of our friends as well as getting our munch on and celebrating PKT's Founder's Day.

Family...

family.jpgSo far, today has been quite relaxing! The gloomy skyline of Music City USA has encouraged me to make the best out of an ordinary Saturday! I decided to grab a quick lunch in the cafeteria this past afternoon, and for some reason, motivated myself to maintain a healthy lifestyle by working out in the fitness center! After I completed my work out, I returned to my room to begin some homework.

I cannot believe that Spring Break has already come and gone! Without a doubt, this “back-to-school” week has definitely been one of the longest weeks ever! However, it has been quite a blast playing frisbee with my friends on these slightly brisk Nashville evenings! In terms of my friends, they are definitely like family to me! Ever since August, I have been extremely blessed by the Lord to have such a supportive group of rock-awesome friends! And last but not least, I could not be happier ever since I have moved down here to Nashville! This place rocks and I am definitely here to stay!

Spring Break 07!

Wow. Spring break is pretty much already over. Where did all the time go? Between going to California for a forensics competition, flying back home, hanging out with my family, boyfriend, and friends, this week has flown by.

Don't Let Spring Break!

So last week closed with joyful exclamation as students from all over the nation rushed to escape the confines of school for a week. What is this rumbling ruckus? This ecstatic expedition? Why, it's Spring Break of course! And isn't ironic the number of Belmont students I talked to and asked where they were going for Spring Break and how many of them responded, "I'm going to such and such a place, Florida." And I, the Florida resident, would then mention somewhat begrudgingly that I was not going home to Florida for Spring Break, rather I was going to the state of Georgia, to a tiny city to gain rest, rejuvenation, and respite from all that is school related (Smart idea then, bringing homework!).

Give Us A Speech

lawson.jpg
Well, it’s almost time for Spring Break and it seems like school is starting to get fuller with homework and things like that. In fact, just recently, for my sociology class I attended a Lecture by the Rev. James Lawson. He was a very active figure during the civil rights movement, most notably working alongside Martin Luther King Jr.

Coming Attractions...

gregandben.jpg

Wow. Today has definitely been one of the most relaxing Saturday’s throughout this entire semester! This morning, I woke up feeling quite refreshed! To my surprise, I noticed a light blanket of snow on the ground. As a result, I thought that it would be fun to go take a walk outside. Without a doubt, the walk definitely woke me up, but more importantly, made me realize that it’s the small things in life that matter most!

She's A Freak!

talking to a orange.jpgYou've heard rumors about them. Freaky freshmen who come to Belmont and attempt to earn all their convocation credits in their freshman year. What kind of insane person would attempt such a thing? Not only do you need ten convocation credits in five areas (Spiritual Development, Personal Growth, Culture and Art, Academic Lecture, and Community Service), but you also have to attain ten electives as well. Who would attempt such a feat in their freshman year? Well, you're looking at her.

Winter Wonderland?!

Hey y'all!
It has been absolutely freezing around here lately! Now, some of you might not consider 30 degrees THAT cold...but it's cold. I'm originally from Michigan, so you'd think I'd be used to the cold weather, right?! Well, after living in Tennessee for almost six years, I have become a wimp when it comes to cold weather...it's almost sad. Ha ha. However, it's still been so much fun to wake up in the morning, put layers of sweaters and coats on, throw on my favorite scarf, put some gloves on, put my little blue Uggs on, and make my way to my first class. Don't laugh about putting a lot of layers on because believe me, I've made the mistake of not reading the daily forecast! I walked to my first class without a heavy coat and I was practically an ice cube by the time I got to class! The poor fountain in the middle of campus looks like a tiny skating rink. Yes, it looks cool, but I wouldn't suggest skating on it...

Another view on life at college

Where has the time gone? As I sit here blogging (and naturally, procrastinating) I can see the list of things that I need to do by... well…Monday! I need to read two books, two labs for psychology, reading for my history class on the American Revolution, Asian History, Asian Humanities, as well as start working on a few term papers. Needless to say, I will not be having as relaxing of a weekend as I would like. And yet I sit here, blogging, watching some good “fake news” as I would like to call it, and yes, of course chatting on AIM about the most random things ever with my boyfriend.

Happy February

An old proverb states, “If you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans.” Lately, this quote perfectly exemplifies not only myself as an individual, but also the situations I have been faced with lately. Fortunately, God has been able to get my attention, which in return, has allowed me to put my trust in just one thing – Him.

Urban Showcase

alvinlove.JPG
The past few weeks have been pretty busy for many of us students just trying to get back into the routine of classes and campus life. But for me especially because on top of all that stuff, I was auditioning for the Urban Showcase here on campus. There is last year's winner of the Urban Showcase Alvin Love, who is also in the commercial showcase this year. I know what most people think..."WHAT? Belmont has an Urban Showcase?!" Yes, in fact we have them for every genre of music.
