Catching Up

This summer has been great so far. I have gotten to do so many awesome things. I have traveled to Detroit and Omaha and still have Cashiers, North Carolina and Los Angeles, California to visit before the summer is up. What exactly have I been up to?

My parents, myself, and my sister went to the opening weekend of the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska. What an experience! There were about 22,000 fans there to watch college baseball. This is like nothing else. The best of the best. We planned this trip a few months in advance and Florida State ended up making it there. Why is that important you ask? Well I played for FSU for two years before transferring to Belmont and I got to see my old roommate pitch, and still knew a couple of the guys that were there when I left. It was bittersweet to see those guys, you could say. omaha.jpg

Detroit. Why go to Detroit? Well, when you have a friend that has a box suite for a game and has invited you and some friends to come, you better go. The stadium was a sight to see in itself. Beautiful. The view from the suite looked a little something like this. DETROIT PIC.jpg

That weekend went like this. Friday: Ate lunch at California Pizza Kitchen, happened to run into Justin Verlander at the mall, who is one of the Tigers' starting pitchers. Went out for sushi that night, and then went downtown and met some new friends. Saturday was pretty relaxed until the game. We hung around and watched reruns on T.V. The game was great. The Tigers came back and won in the bottom of the 9th on a walk off double. After the game we went back to Ravae's parents house with our new friends and sat in the family room and talked until 5 A.M. I love good talks and great friends. Sunday we got back to Nashville, and I was personally a little tired and run down from the weekend but it was well worth it.

As most of you know, I love music. I really do. This summer has been a great summer of music. I went to the CMA Music Fest in June and it was an absolute blast. I loved seeing Alan Jackson, Keith Urban, Rodney Atkins, and many others. Just this past weekend I went to Kenny Chesney's Poets and Pirates Tour. That is something I will never forget. Keith Urban also played this show and rocked the house. He is such a great guitarist. Kenny is a true entertainer. That is just what he is. He played forever. It's also amazing to me how many great songs he has. CONCERT.jpg

I plan on meeting my parents in Cashiers, North Carolina the weekend of the 25th to see our longtime friends who own a golf course/country club. It will be great to get away, see friends, and see Mom and Dad again. Too bad my dog blue won't be able to make the trip. That would be cool. Maybe next year. The lake and golf course are perfect this time of year. Can't wait.

August 9th Eric, Chris, Jacob, and myself are flying out to L.A. We all have always wanted to go out there and see what it's like, so we decided to take an adventure. We got great deals on flights and hotels, so it wont be too pricey. I will make sure and take a lot of pictures while we are there. I can't wait to catch up with my two cousins who live out there, one of whom is an actor. LA.jpg

This 4th of July was only the 2nd 4th that I had not been in Florida in all my life. It was different, but a good kind of different. I was with new friends and in a new place. We went to Chris' parents cabin with some friends about an hour from Nashville. Other than being extremely muggy outside, it was a blast. We cooked out, played games, and shot off our own fireworks. Nothing better than that. Firework.jpg

I recorded a new song on my computer a couple days ago called "The Little Things". I know the quality isn't great, but it's something. If you'd like to take a listen you can click here.

Also, if you'd like to read my personal blog, you can find that here as well. CafeCoco.jpg
