This is me

The summer of 2007. Let me take you there. I was 21 years old, unemployed and living at home with my parents, had already been to two colleges, not taking classes at the moment, extremely unsure about my future, and then I did what any normal 21 year old would do, I got a dog. brian.JPG

Unfortunately I would have to leave Blue behind at home with my parents 3 months after getting him while pursuing the call to Belmont. How in the world did I end up at Belmont you ask? Well, I'd be lying if I said that God didn't have a huge part in getting me here. After months of trying to quit baseball and wanting to just pursue music and song-writing I decided it was in my best interest to keep playing ball and get a good degree in something that I loved. But, I did want to go to a school where I could play baseball and do music stuff. There was only one place in mind for me and that was Belmont. This whole process was so last minute that I got my acceptance letter the week before I moved in. I got the last bedroom in a two bedroom apartment at Hillside. Every detail worked out perfectly. I love it here in Nashville at Belmont. I have the best of both worlds.

Currently I am in the middle of baseball season. Things are busy but they are going well. I am enjoying getting to pitch, compete, and build relationships with my teammates. I am taking private voice, guitar, and piano lessons and enjoying them as well.

My first year at Belmont has been great thus far. I am involved with Synodia, a student led and organized worship service on campus, made a lot of great friends and met a lot of cool people, experienced God's faithfulness like never before, help start and lead our baseball devotional, attempting to get better in all aspects of music, and truly enjoying where I am.

One of my favorite definitions of success is by Mark Batterson who wrote In a Pit With A Lion on a Snowy Day. He says, "success is doing the best you can with what you have where you are."
