Learning to Speak Up

I am not exaggerating when I say that this week could potentially be one of the busiest weeks of my life. So far, I have written an essay for Mass Media, run a total of seven miles, read 100 pages for my writing class, and prepared a speech for my debate in Foundations of Education…and it’s only TUESDAY! I still have to study for a test that I have on Friday, write and rehearse a speech for my speech class, prepare for my student-teaching lesson, and run 14 more miles. Needless to say, this week is going to be a little crazy. I can’t wait for Thursday because my mom is coming to visit me! I told her that we will have to go out to eat at the Bonefish Grill (my favorite restaurant) on Friday night so that I can relax after being so busy all week.

This week has been one of the most crazy weeks of second semester thus far! On Monday, a few of my good friends celebrated my buddy Jason’s birthday! We all went to Mellow Mushroom for some delectable pizza, and afterwards, went over to a friend’s apartment to have yummy cupcakes. As the week progressed, I completed an abundance of assignments for my 18 credit class load.

Broken Circuits, Birthdays, and Brad Paisley!

I had a sudden urge to express this series of unfortunate events, if you will…and this seemed to be the best way possible. Ok so yes..it’s like 3 in the morning. I really should be well into a great night of sleep..however, I’m having an allergic reaction to the universe which is preventing me from enjoying much on anything right now. Morbid? Yes. Who cares. If your life was anywhere near as weird, awkward, and unfortunate as mine, then you’d understand how I feel.

Recently, I got two on campus jobs. One is in the University Ministries and I’m the student worker a couple of hours a week, and the other job is on the boulevard (Belmont Boulevard) at This & That (Link) which is a student run music and dorm decor store. It’s pretty sweet I must say, and it’s gone pretty well so far. I sold my first cd last week. I was way too excited about it, I must say.
Well, laundry’s calling so I must be out if I want any clothes to wear for today.

Lately – Nashville is really transforming into a place that resembles home. I am so unbelievably happy for the friends that the Lord has placed in my life. Annie Leibowitz once stated, “You can simply change yourself by picking up and moving.” One-year-and-a-half-ago, I did just that. I packed as much as I could into my dad’s shiny-blue pick-up truc, leaving only memories spent with family and the solid foundation which constitutes who I am today. Now, it is the year of two-thousand-and-eight…and here I am.

What a week…

It’s only Thursday but it feels like the weekend should be here already! Yesterday was pretty rough; we were up until 3 AM on Tuesday night because of the tornado warnings, so everyone was exhausted. On top of that, I had to run 3.5 miles for my half-marathon training. It was a beautiful morning though, so I was able to run outside (which I love). I had no trouble falling asleep last night and I think I slept better than I have in a long time.
