Almost two weeks into the semester and I’m in desperate need of a nap! I’m loving my schedule so far though. I decided to reduce my hours this semester and I’m already so glad that I did! My favorite class this semester is probably Acting for the Camera. I absolutely love it! It’s helping me develop myself as an actress and I’m really excited to see the progress over the next few months!

Celebrating MLK

This past Monday was the MLK Jr. Holiday and it was great to have a day off. But it’s also great to see Belmont celebrating the life of a great leader and fighter for democracy. Over the past week and continuing through this week, Belmont has been offering a series of convocations celebrating Unity and many other values Dr. King espoused (Schedule of events is here).
Isn’t Everything?

I’m going to make a difference. At least a difference in my own life. So far, 2008 has definitely been quite satisfying and rewarding. It is not what I expected. But instead, it is so much more. All of the insecurities of wondering what the beginning of this year would hold were washed away like a tide set against a yellow-and-orange painted sunset sky. Lately, I am extremely thankful for the changes that God has been making in my life. For starters, my friends basically rock. And secondly, this semester is turning out to be quite fun! (Despite the homework.)
A Weekend of R & R
This weekend proved to be a much-needed break for me. I know we’ve only been back in school for a couple of weeks now, but I already feel like I have so much to do! I like staying busy, but it’s always nice to have some down time. I went to two basketball games this weekend: the Belmont men’s game and the Vanderbilt men’s game. Both teams won and I had a lot of fun at the games. I’m looking forward to the Belmont vs. Lipscomb game on February 22nd. My mom will be in Nashville that weekend so hopefully we will be able to go.
And the Madness Begins

(This picture is of me and my friend Guss over my Christmas Break. Don’t I look mad (as in crazy, ‘mad’)?
So, I am one of those crazy sophomores who finds herself slightly ahead of the other sophomores and decides to take a few Third-Year classes because they sound interesting and will continue to help the process of graduating on time. I now am wondering if I should regret being one of those crazy sophomores after I’ve been to all my classes now.
Goodbye 2007…Hello 2008!
It’s the first week of classes and I’m a bit overwhelmed. I’m so excited about being back with all my friends, making more friends, and not knowing what possibilities lie ahead for this semester, etc. I had an incredible Christmas break! From going to movies with my family to going to Destin, FL with my friends for New Years, I’m pretty sure that this was potentially my best break so far.

New Year, New Semester
It’s so good to be back! I had a wonderful, relaxing Christmas break in Kansas City and now I’m ready to start another semester. It was fun to see my friends here at Belmont; I missed them more than I realized! Classes started on Tuesday and I am really enjoying them so far. I’m taking a linked cohort this semester, which consists of two classes from two different disciplines that are taught by two different instructors.
Looking Forward to Looking Back

The bright lights of the city shined brilliantly as I began to descend into Nashville. And for that matter, so did the smile on my face. For some reason, I am confident that this year is going to be much different from last year. I plan to make every moment count as if it would be my last. Furthermore, I definitely want to put forth 110% in school, and in the meantime, set aside time to explore the creative side of photography and writing.
