Winter Wonderland

Greetings from Kansas City!! I have been here for two days now and I’m absolutely loving it. I was a little nervous about being able to fly here after the ice storm, but I made it with no problems or delays at all! My dad was in Baltimore on a business trip when the ice storm hit and so, unfortunately, his flight home on Tuesday night was cancelled. Luckily, he was able to get a flight to Nashville instead and so he took me out to dinner! He spent the night in a hotel and then, on Wednesday, we were both on the same flight to Kansas City! My mom was a little disappointed that she couldn’t pick me up from the airport herself (since my dad’s car was already parked there), but she was waiting eagerly at the door when I got home.

The ice finally started to melt off of the trees yesterday, but I think it’s supposed to snow another 4-6” this weekend. Hopefully it will be the type of snow that is perfect for snow angels, snowball fights, and sledding! My friend, Emily, took this picture earlier this week when the ice storm hit. n1195201071_30576832_2878.jpg She goes to K-State and ALL of their classes/finals were cancelled. I was so jealous!! Although the weather in Nashville that day was 70ยบ so I guess I wasn’t too jealous…
I am so very excited to have officially completed my first semester of college! It went by incredibly fast, but I enjoyed every minute it. I was a bit sad to leave my roommates and friends, but I know that I will see them soon. Raychel (one of my roommates) might come visit me after Christmas! She has been dying to go to Branson, Missouri (about 3 hours away from KC) and I told her that if she comes then we can take a road trip. Hopefully that will all work out!
As for now I am enjoying time with my family, relaxing, and baking holiday cookies. Most of my friends came home from college last night, so hopefully I will get to see them today! Christmas is my favorite holiday and I love everything about it. I think my brother and I are making a gingerbread house tonight so I’m really looking forward to that.
Merry Christmas!!
