Greetings from Kansas City!! I have been here for two days now and I’m absolutely loving it. I was a little nervous about being able to fly here after the ice storm, but I made it with no problems or delays at all! My dad was in Baltimore on a business trip when the ice storm hit and so, unfortunately, his flight home on Tuesday night was cancelled. Luckily, he was able to get a flight to Nashville instead and so he took me out to dinner! He spent the night in a hotel and then, on Wednesday, we were both on the same flight to Kansas City! My mom was a little disappointed that she couldn’t pick me up from the airport herself (since my dad’s car was already parked there), but she was waiting eagerly at the door when I got home.

Finishing Strong
I can’t believe the end of the semester is already here. It’s hard to believe it’s gone by so quickly but so full of experiences at the same time. I have to say, it’s been a great ride. It definitely equals the magnitude of my first year in its goodness, and I might even say it was better because I’ve gotten a lot better at time management and doing my homework.
Home

Lately – it seems as if the word “Home” is a state-of-mind. The accumulation of exams, final projects, and any extra work is coming to an end. I can already taste my dad’s home-made snickerdoodle cookies and my mom’s knock-you-off-the-seat-of-your-pants chicken-dumpling soup. Until then, I have to settle for meals in the “caf” and sub sandwiches from Belmont’s ‘Corner Court.’
