Homework...Who does that?
It seems like as the semester moves along, there are fewer people going out on the weekends. But now things are starting to make sense. Just like myself, pretty much everyone on campus has a lot of big group projects, research papers, or just a lot of assigned reading to do. My phone calls to my friends are different now than just about a month ago, when classes were just starting. Towards the end of August and the beginning of September, a typical conversation would be like,
Me: "Hey, what's going on? Do you wanna see what's going on downtown?"
Friend: "Just hanging out, man. Sure lets go out and find something cool to do"
Me: "Alright man, I'll be there in a few minutes".
Now it's something like,
Me: "Hey, what's going on man?"
Friend: "Nothing much, man. Just busy with some homework and stuff."
Me: "Are you serious? Homework...Who does that?"
Friend: "Man, I have a lot of stuff due pretty soon, and plus I just want to catch up some sleep."
I guess that maybe it's me just being a complete slacker, how many guys do you know that starts on their work ahead of time? Not very many huh? Guys just hate homework in general, but if my professor doesn't require me to do any homework for class then chances are I just might not get around to it. If it's not graded, then what''s the point right? That's what I said until I took the first Calculus test. Then, I realized why I spent all that money on the book for class. When you actually open up the book and write down the problem, and maybe if you're feeling really excited that day, try and solve the problem. It makes sense now because after I started doing that unnecessary homework, I started to get better grades on the daily quizzes and exams. So, I guess the answer to my own question is, ME. Cause if it weren't for those book examples, I would be completely lost. This Business Calculus is pretty tough. I mean really tough. I am usually a math wizard, but just knowing me I tend to make simple things really complicated.
