Fall Break Is Almost Here!

People have been getting sick. I guess it’s just that time of year. I was so proud of myself for not getting sick, and then…it happened.

A few days ago, I thought I was getting a bad case of allergy issues. Sadly, I now know that, what I believed to be simply allergies was the beginning of a terrible, terrible thing called "a cold." I should've seen the signs earlier. For instance: Obvious Sign Numero Uno: My eyes were unusually watering. I'm a sensitive person, but MY goodness! I kept tearing up on a regular basis just at the sight of the sun! Obvious Sign Numero Dos: I sneezed, not once, but FOUR times in a row in Oratorio last week!! The last sign was when I showed up to my classical voice lesson and my teacher took one look at me then sent me to the school nurse. It was then that I finally figured out that I was sick. I was in denial for quite some time. I didn’t want to give in to the evil “I am sick” mantra! In the end, I had to face the facts. The lovely nurse gave me medicine and because I was so ill, my mom drove from Franklin to pick me up. I ate some exquisite tortellini soup at home, watched Dancing With the Stars, and then drifted off into a Nyquil-enhanced sleep. I hadn’t been able to fall asleep before 10 at night for quite some time, so that was nice!

The next day, I woke up about 12 hours later, still sick, but I decided to attend a couple of classes. I tried to avoid talking to many people since I was trying not to burden anyone else with a cold.

Midterms are next week! I’m not necessarily excited about that, but I’m extremely excited for Fall Break! I’m not sure what I’m doing yet, but another trip to the lake sounds nice! In other news, I wish I had a yorkie! I think it’s about time for me to buy one!
