Welcome Home!

Well, I'm back at Belmont! I have been for the past week and a half and I am having the time of my life. I have to admit, at first I was a little apprehensive about returning to school, but now that I'm getting into the swing of things I'm falling in love all over again with the school. It's so weird to come back as a sophmore instead of as a freshman. I'm coming in with eyes that aren't widening at every aspect of campus (though I did gape in awe as I saw how many new freshmen there are) and I feel like I know everything about the school already. I also already have my group of friends, and so, I'm not coming in with the same fear about being able to make friends as I did freshman year.

But, even though I already have amazing friends, I'm so excited to be able to meet a lot of the new freshman coming in. I guess this is why I became an SLA, because of the interaction with the freshman class. If one is not really in something on campus like Res Life, Program Board (click here for more on program board), University Ministries, or Towering Traditions, it can be kind of difficult to meet new students. I know for me, as an English major, a lot of the classes I'm taking now are upper level English classes, and most freshmen don't get into those. So, really, as an SLA I'm allowed the privilege of meeting awesome freshmen as well as getting to lead them in a bible study.

Recently my friends, Chris (in the picture with me), Emily, Jonathan, and I went out to Ru San's which is a Japanese sushi place. It's so awesome. They have a dollar sushi menu and I only paid $2.19 for my meal. It's like a college student's dream.

As far as my schedule goes, it is ok. On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I only have 2 classes at 11:00 and 12:00, so my days are pretty short. However, Tuesdays, and Thursdays more than make up for it. I've got three classes, but Tues./Thurs. classes are an hour and fifteen minutes long, and my last class of the day actually starts at 2:00 and ends at 4:45. I'm not exactly sure how I'm gonna juggle my social life, my SLA responsibilities, my relationship with God, and my academics this year. It will only be by the providence of God that I keep my head above water, but I'm so confident that He will be able to make much out of little, and that I'll be able to keep my motivation high for the whole year.
