BU2U - The Trifecta!
This past couple of weeks have been a lot of fun, but very busy. First off, summer classes are STILL going pretty good. I got an A in International Business last summer session, and as of now I have an A in Business Law, as well. If you don't love school, I wouldn't suggest taking summer classes at all because it's hard to change your mindset from being relaxed to class mode during the summer. But I can say that I'll be ready for classes in the Fall, not to mention everybody coming back to Nashville. But back to BU2U, I went to three cities for the first time Memphis, Knoxville, and Cincinnati. I have great things to say about each city, because each city was very unique in it's own way.
For starters, Knoxville was the first stop on the trip, and all I can say is WOW! Knoxville was very nice and much bigger then I had imagined. I am kinda bummed because I didn't get to see UT's campus and Neyland Stadium, but maybe next time. I did get to go to the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame, and get a free tour of all the exhibits. There were actually some basketball goals on the bottom level to shoot on, but no one wanted to challenge me. Scaredy-Cats, this includes Dr. Fisher, who still owes me a game of H-O-R-S-E sometime soon.
Memphis was probably my personal favorite of the three cities because we went to a Memphis Redbirds game which happen to be the Triple-A Affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. If you didn't know, a guy named Albert Pujols is a former Redbird, and arguably the best player in the Majors. But the stadium was absolutely huge, it looked like a Major League stadium. And to get even better, we got the best BBQ in the World. It's a restaurant called Rendezvous, and with Memphis being known for it's BBQ, the next time you're in Memphis you gotta swing on by.
And last but certainly not least is good ol' Cincinnati. I loved Cincinnati, especially the view, coming from Northern Kentucky into the city is very nice. I mean you get a great view of the city skyline, and you have two ball parks right there where the Cincinnati Bengals and Reds play. I would have to say that Cincinnati would have to be the most unique place I've ever been, as far as the layout of the city and the architecture. We kind of hung out a little with some alumni, current and prospective students as well as parents at the Cincinnati Zoo. I'm a little upset that I didn't get a good picture of the bears, since we are the BRUINS!
