Just Like Old Times
This summer for the most part has been pretty hectic, with going to class and trying to find a job. But when school first ended and people were headed back home and on their vacations and such, I was still here on campus packing up to move into my apartment. For the first few weeks of the summer, I was bored out of my mind. But one day I just started randomly getting in touch with some old friends from high school, like some buddies from the football team, a few people from marching band, and just some other close friends from classes and such.
Here's an old picture of me in high school with my exchange student, Mohammed. He is from Egypt and apparently they have access to Facebook and MySpace back home, and he found my profile on there. It's crazy because we just picked up on conversations we were having my senior year like we never left. He's trying to come back to America and possibly go to school and become an engineering student at a local college.
This past weekend, I went back to my original hometown of Murfreesboro, TN to hang out with my best-friend Leon. I was going around town seeing how things have changed so much just from a few years ago, with several new stores and subdivisions everywhere. But I came across some old friends from the football team my freshman year walking around the mall, and they haven't changed a bit. We were still acting like we were fresh out of middle school because we were joking on each other and talking about old football memories. Like the time when I got my first play in a real game, and I was doing everything right except for the fact that I didn't know the play we were doing. As soon as the ball was hiked, I was just going across the field hitting random players on the other team, and crazy enough we ended up scoring on that play. So I guess there isn't much improvisation in football because I ran a bunch of laps for that whole incident. But at least we scored right?!
