Time Flies When You're Working 9 to 5
Wow, the month of May has flown by at a breakneck speed. It feels like I just got home when in reality, I've been here for three and a half weeks. Helping to keep the weeks flying by is my trusty office job at the church. I sit around doing secretarial work, filing, organizing, cutting out little paper shirts for Vacation Bible School... you know, the good stuff. No, but really, I love working here. The people are fun and I've grown up here so it's cool to be able to give back a little. Although last Thursday I had to stamp and label over 400 postcards... I'm not sure I want to give back that much.
But work is not the only thing keeping me busy. On Memorial Day, I took part in my church's annual Memorial Day picnic. There was lots of good food, good friends, a rock wall, and a 30 ft inflatable tiger slide named the Sabretooth that me and my friend Lucy took on (It was pretty awesome I must admit).
On Tuesday, my friends Deidra, Deanna, and I went to Starbucks to hang out with my pastor's wife. We just sat around and shared college stories and how God's been working in our life. Afterwards, I drove around town for a while and discovered a park near my house that I never knew about. It was pretty sweet. I just sat inside the car and talked to God a bit.
Overall, I've been having quite the fun time, and I'm sure it will continue to fly by.
