Still awake...

It is exactly 1:10a.m. right now! This is exactly what I love about spilling my thoughts and feelings into this journal of some sort. I just returned from working NSAI’s 15th Annual Tin Pan South songwriter’s festival! As a volunteer, I assisted in the process of checking people in and out of 3rd and Lindsley (a premier Nashville venue.) The evening was quite rewarding, due to the fact that I was able to watch the majority of the songwriter rounds.

Tom Douglas, one of Nashville’s most phenomenal writers, performed his hits, “Love Is the Only House,” “Grown Men Don’t Cry,” and “Little Rock.” Overall, the evening enabled me to understand that a GREAT song is the foundation of the music industry! Furthermore, the Lord God also clarified the fact that I belong in Nashville, the ultimate home of country music. I absolutely love this city, and inevitably, am so blessed to be at a school where I am offered these amazing opportunities!

In terms of college, I cannot believe that it is already the 1st of April! Where has the time gone? It seems just like yesterday that my parents were helping me move into Kennedy Hall. With that said, it is somewhat stressful to think about all of the work that I have to accomplish between now and final exam week. However, I believe that my sense of confidence and faith in the Lord will allow me to be determined, motivated, and driven. I’m positive that the ultimate goal of attaining a degree in Music Business with a minor in Public Relations will come sooner than I anticipate! Hence, I am going to embrace every moment that life has to offer!

Lately, I’ve really been excited about the fact that Belmont is hosting the 2007 CMT Music Awards. The award show will feature performances by Bon Jovi, Martina McBride, and Kenny Chesney. Click here to learn more about this cool event! I am positive that the days leading up to this extravagant event will be quite busy! Hopefully, I’ll be able to be a part of this amazing event! I guess I’ll leave that up to God to decide. He absolutely rocks.

Well, I believe that I should try to get some sleep! I have a busy few days coming up ahead of me. Night!
