Okay, so March Madness is here and just take a guess who’s going dancing? Yep, you already know, two years in a row we’re in the Big Dance, or NCAA Tournament (just in case you don’t keep up). The guys’ team is riding a 7 game win streak into the tournament, so the momentum will hopefully help us out playing a power school in a week or two. I can’t really think of a school right off the top of my head to get a tourney bid around here, wait maybe Vandy this year beating Florida, Memphis is always pretty good but choke sometimes, and the Bisons sorry not quite. But anyways back to Belmont, the guys are getting some good buzz around town with being on ESPN2 for the championship game and one of the players Justin Hare being recognized as a Academic second team All-American. On top of that Belmont has won the Academic Athletic Trophy for five straight years, possibly six with the highest GPA per student-athlete in the A-Sun conference.

Hey, Don’t forget about the girls! They are playing this week in the A-Sun women’s tourney down in Dothan, Alabama. The girls are not too bad themselves losing only two games in conference play this year and earning the number one seed. Look at my girl Alysha Clark doing it big with her own billboard. She deserves it being a two-time player if the year and all. Guess what?! She’s only a sophmore, so do the math. She won player of the year straight out of high school. If they win out in the tournament, they will also get a bid for the Big Dance. Think about it BOTH the men’s and women’s teams possibly making the big tourney, this is big time right here. Then, you’ll have to put Belmont in the same category as Duke, Connecticut, and North Carolina, well as far as having both teams going to the tournament. See, this would bring some much needed life on campus coming back from break and before getting grades from those crazy midterms. But not to worry, I studied like a mad man last week, so my grades are fine. I gotta keep those scholarships somehow, right? But on that note, it you aren’t doing much Sunday around let’s say four o’ clock you ought to come by campus and watch the NCAA selection show to celebrate the teams and see who who we’re playing.
