The Holiday Season has Truly Arrived!

Finals are done!! It is an amazing feeling to be able to write this from the comfort of my own bedroom, knowing that I did pretty well in all of my classes and not having any schoolwork to do until January! About a week ago, I was not in such a relaxed state. I really did not know what to expect from a college final, so I was studying more than I ever have in my life. Between Art History flash cards and memorizing Spanish verb tenses, I was going insane. All the studying paid off though, and now I get to have a nice, calm, relaxing holiday break.

Bye Bye Belmont!

I’m so thankful to God that this last week of finals is finally over. The freedom I felt after finishing my last class filled my whole body. I wanted to jump and scream. My first semester of college is done, complete, over. I can hardly believe how much I’ve grown as a person and as a Christian this semester. And now Christmas break is upon us. Almost a month at home and I am so excited.

Happy Christmas (almost…)

Ben and FriendsWow…I cannot believe that I’m flying home in only seven days! At this point in the semester, many of the students on campus are overwhelmed with the stress of finals, homework, relationships, and the anticipation of returning home! Surprisingly, I have only been moderately stressed due to the fact that the Lord God has enabled me to effectively handle the inevitable tension of stress by allowing me to embrace every moment that life has to offer.
To reduce the stress of finals, I engage in a “work-out” program every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. Caroline, one of the most friendly personal trainers at the Beaman, provides me with good advice on how I can exercise safely, but in an efficient manner. On the week days, I typically work out between 10:15-11:30a.m. At the closure of each work out, I feel confident and healthy. For those of you who are stressed, I strongly encourage you to check out the Beaman Student Life Center. Without a doubt, working out has definitely been a “rock-awesome” asset to my daily lifestyle here at Belmont University.

Bye Belmont!

Belmont Tower at Sunset No, this doesn’t actually mean I’m leaving the school, just looking forward to the Christmas Break. Until then, I still need to focus on my last projects due for class as well as studying for finals. It’s not that bad though if you know what I have to do. For one class, I have to create a simple website that includes a picture and some text using HTML, and for my other project I have to mix and edit a recorded song. I even recorded myself performing on the song to make it even better. I’m not that good so don’t worry… it’s not a career move.
I want to go home so bad but I’m going to miss a lot of my friends here in the dorm and on campus. It seems like everyone is from all over the country, but I’m the only one from good ol’ Nashville. Hey, at least I don’t have to drive hours upon hours. For me, it takes about 20 minutes with heavy traffic. Well, I hope everyone has a good Christmas break.

Adios 2006…

It’s difficult to believe that December is already here. This semester has gone by sooo fast! So what has been happening lately? Well, yesterday it was seventy eight degrees outside and today its an astonishing thirty four degrees. The high all weekend does not reach above forty and I’m sure the week after will probably be back in the seventies. You learn to appreciate consistant climates when you live here, but hey, it’s a new experience…. and I promise it’s never really that bad.
