Breath of Fresh Air

Midterms are over. Yay! They all went pretty well, so that was a huge relief for me. I had never had a midterm before, but they were not as impossible as I feared they might be. The best part of midterms however, is the vacation you get after taking them. I got to go home to New York for the first time in nearly two months, and it was awesome. I hung out with my family, saw the Mets win a playoff game (Amazing!!), and saw friends I had only talked to on the phone for the first time in two months. It was a very needed trip home, and now there are only about four more weeks until Thanksgiving!

But in that time, I have some research papers and other projects for my classes. I had been pretty lucky to this point, I didn’t have to write a single paper over two pages this entire semester (to date). Is it sad that I am almost looking forward to researching for a paper? In high school I always found surfing the internet for information kind of fun, and certainly interesting. You never know what new information you will find! Yeah, I know. I am a geek. I embrace it though.
After a month of waiting, the cooler (sometimes cold) weather has finally reached Nashville. The trees are starting to change color, and it is just nice out....when it is not raining that is... which it seems to have been doing more recently these days. Who knows. I just carry an umbrella. I can’t seem to figure out this Nashville weather.
Tonight, I am really excited to go to Fall Follies. To be honest, I am not 100% sure what it is, but from what I have heard from upper classmen it is a hilarious spoof on things here at Belmont. There are lots of fun events like this that go on through the year, next week is movie night at the Beaman, so that should also be a lot of fun. A group called Program Board puts on these events (and others that you can find here ), and although I am not involved in the group, I think it is an awesome organization that does great things for all of us here.
So, I should probably be going. Right now is “Convo Hour” on campus. There are no classes from 10-11 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays so that there can be convocation events that everybody can go to. I really like that idea, and even though I don’t always go to events (like now), it is nice to have a little break in between my classes to do some last minute homework, take a short nap after a long night of studying, or just chill in the dorm room.
