Hey, Where did all the free time go?

So, about the first half of the semester is over now and campus noticeably changing every day. First of all, classes are beginning to pick up a little as far as homework and quizzes. I can remember the first week of classes when there was a lot of energy and excitement around campus from the freshmen orientation events to everyone having free time to hang out and chill with a few friends. Yeah, those were the days when classes didn’t have much homework and pretty much everyone had all the time in the world to hang out. The hardest thing was trying to find something to do.

Even I, Josh Homer had time to chill with friends. SEE, look at me the second one from the left. I’m kinda hard to pick out so you gotta look closely.

And people wonder where I get the nickname the “Big Cheese” from. Who would have thought?

Well, back to the subject. Every school year, I tell myself that it’s going to be a new year and I’ll do better this time around. But let’s be real, does it really work out, uhm…probably not. The first few weeks of school, you are getting back into the swing of things like getting up earlier, seeing all your friends again, and trying to get to all your classes on time. Then, comes the procrastination period where you kind of put off work and go out with friends, or if your like me play basketball in the Rec Gym. With Belmont being about 5 minutes from downtown, it’s easy to go to Titan’s football games, Predators hockey, and different concerts like John Legend coming in a few weeks. With all this stuff to do it can be hard to stay focused and not go out. For those few people who stay on top of things well college may seem pretty easy to you. But for all the other people like me, we tend to put off things until the last minute like cramming and last-minute research papers the night before. No, I’m not trying to scare you at all don’t worry college isn’t that bad. If you learn how to manage your time and prioritize then everything else will fall into place.

Actually college is pretty fun, and a lot better than that other kind of school, oops…I mean high school. I do kind of miss high school just because of my friends and having FREE books. You’ll appreciate them once you have to buy them yourself one day. Well, if you take one thing from this whole message remember that college is a blast and it’s all about managing your time.
