Activities Day 7-Last Day of Service

day7.jpg
Bom Dia!!! Today is going to be a tough day. We are all tired, but the girls are extremely tired. Being tired is not the reason why today will be tough. It will be a very emotional day for this is our last day of service. This will be the last day for us to be in a public school, sharing our testimony, seeing those smiling faces, helping those in need. We will visit a handicap school, and a favela for the first time this week. Pray that the Spirit will cover us this day.

The best verse I could find to match today is:

Isaiah 40:30-31 "Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

I know that I have used this verse a couple of times in this journal. If there was any day to truly use this verse, it would be today. Our Hearts have been torn all week long from what we have witnessed here in Rio. Today will be no different, it will be even harder because it is our last. The girls are very strong, and you can see how much compassion they have in their hearts and souls about these kids and Rio. You know what!! This is the day the Lord Has made, and be glad in it. For this is the day the Lord has made, and REJOICE. May we all SOAR ON WINGS LIKE EAGLES, MAY GOD COVER US IN HIS SPIRIT, MAY EACH CHILD AND ADULT SEE THE HOLY SPIRIT IN US TODAY.

Pray with me this Prayer, Each of you know it:
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your KINGDOM come, your WILL be done on earth as it is in HEAVEN, give us this day our Daily Bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one." I pray a special prayer for these young ladies, the translators, Sharon and Ray, Jennifer, Betty, Deane, and for the people we come in contact with today. That Your Holy Spirit will be upon us today, that our smiles will shine brightly, that the LOVE of CHRIST will flow endlessly, and that everyone will see Christ within us today. Praise you Father!! Amen!!

We am so grateful that you have each had this experience. We hope you will never forget any of it.
We pray that the Holy Spirit will watch over you on your trip back home. We'll continue to pray for everyone with whom you have shared the Good News. Blessings to each of you. John & Lucia O'Connor

This may be your last day there for you to share your personal love for Jesus, but it will not be the last day for the ones that you all have touched. They will remember and God will use those memories in ways that we cannot believe. Our prayers are always with you all. Go in faith and have a wonderful(+fun)remaining time there.

Hey Girls! I'm a guidance counselor at the International Christian School here in Rio. I stumbled upon your blog this morning as I was recommending Belmont to a student. Just wanted to let you know that I'm praying alongside you as you share Christ's love in Brasil :) Deus te abencoe (God bless you)

Oops! Should have worn my glasses this morning while shooting off an e-mail for all to see...
Can't wait to get our team home!

It is hard to believe that today is Tuesday-heading toward the end of the trip. I want to thank everyone involved in the Rio trip for giving Emily and the team this wonderful opportunity. So much hard work and planning have gone into making this such an experience of a lifetime. The website has been such a wonderful way of sharing the daily activities -I wake up in the morning and race to the computer to read the plan of the day and the beautiful faithfilled testimonies. It is such a great way to begin the day!!
May God bless all of those involved in the many facets of this trip.
Rosanne and John Cahill
