Rose Park Partnership

The Metro Parks and Recreation Board, the Edgehill community and Belmont University are working together to explore options for redeveloping E.S. Rose Park on Edgehill Avenue. Belmont has proposed that it fund the redesign and reconstruction of the athletic facilities at the park so that its baseball, softball and soccer teams might compete at a venue closer to the main campus. Once complete, the community would have full use of playing fields for baseball, softball, soccer and football at all times when not being used by the university. Belmont anticipates that the fields would be available to the community a substantial majority of the time. The university is working with an Edgehill Advisory Group and Metro Parks staff to develop a specific proposal for presentation to and comment from the community at a public meeting, possibly as early as this fall. The members of the Edgehill Advisory Group are Rev. Bill Barnes, Rev. Vincent Campbell, Councilman Ronnie Greer, King Hollands, Ronnie Miller, Brenda Morrow, Rep. Mary Pruitt, and Councilman Ludye Wallace.
