PART-TIME JOB AT RCA STUDIO B!

Do you like to make people feel welcome? Are you interested in helping people learn about the history of Nashville music recording? The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum seeks a friendly, outgoing person for the part-time position of Studio B Greeter. As the Greeter you’ll welcome Museum visitors to Studio B, assist tour guides as needed with group tours and Studio B programs, and perform some minor housekeeping duties. You must have good communication skills and be available to work alternate weekends, occasional weekdays, and holidays. Your shift will average about 6 hours per day, with some 8 hour shifts. Prior customer service and/or hospitality business experience preferred.

Event Manager
Duties Include:
• attends to artist or event specific requests
• assigns event managers to events
• coordinates with sound reinforcement
• handles staging and concert fees
• manages venue budget
• handles myspace promotion including “Top 8” rotations, weekly messages to friends, and event evites for big shows
• creates a database of performers/artist managers
• places follow up calls to artists after each show
• assists with publicity

Experience Preferred: Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, Event Management Experience, Courses related to Event Management

Booking Coordinator
Duties Include:
• receives requests for shows
• seeks outside acts
• books shows
• requests advance sheets and posts on calendar
• enters all schedule and contact info into calendar
• ensures that myspace calendar is up to date
• maintains hard copy files of all advance sheets
• maintain bic calendar requests
• checks voicemails
• takes messages

Experience Preferred: Familiarity with yahoo calendar and Microsoft Office Applications, Courses related to Concert Booking and Promotion

Universal Music Group College & Lifestyle Marketing Representative

The College Marketing staff focuses on developing new, up and coming artists from all independent labels owned and distributed by UMGD. The Reps create marketing opportunities through many avenues, including: working with campus activities committees, securing CD reviews and interviews with college/community press, initiating on-air promotions with college radio stations, online marketing, targeting lifestyle promotional opportunities in the surrounding college community, organizing listening parties for artists on campus as well as lifestyle and retail accounts, coordinating cross-promotional activities.

The College Reps are located in branch and resident markets and report to their local Market Director as well as the National Director. College Reps also work closely with their local Artist Development Reps and Sales Reps to ensure that all promotions are tied back to retail stores and that all advertising and positioning opportunities are utilized.

Job overview:

Responsible for marketing priority developing artists in assigned college market and serving as an informational source for college campus and general vicinity

Duties and responsibilities:
- Create awareness on campus and within local demographic by utilizing label-supplied tools (point of purchase materials, samplers, added value items, etc…) and creating various tools (flyers, bin cards, etc…)
- Work within the guidelines provided by the National Director and Marketing Manager with the implementation of promotions, listening parties, and other related events
- Monitor SoundScan numbers to determine effectiveness of promotions
- Establish relationships with activity committees, on-campus clubs, and lifestyle accounts to secure outlets for artist marketing ideas and programs
- Keep up-to-date of priority artists’ tour itineraries and potential marketing opportunities
- Secure data base on lifestyle accounts for promotional opportunities
- Work in conjunction with ADR and/or Sales Rep to tie in retail promotions, coupons, and tags with retail accounts
- Assist resident Sales Reps with in-stores, merchandising venues, and store promotions

Job Requirements:

- Excellent communication and people skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent written and communication skills

This is a 20hr/week paid position and requires college enrollment (2 course/6 credit minimum per semester, or participation in a degree-seeking program) and strong communication skills.

Junior or Sophomore level preferred
