Showcase Series Production Staff Applications

Are you interested in the Showcase Series production? If so, please download the appropriate application and return your completed application to Ms. Sarah Cates in the Office of the Dean (Curb Event Center, Mezzanine level) by March 30th at 4pm.

Producer
This person will report directly to the CEMB Dean’s office and will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing all aspects of the productions. Job duties would include:
o Selecting associate producer and production assistants
o Overseeing all elements of production
o Creating a vision
o Leading/Coordinating production meetings
o Creating a marketing plan
o Seeking sponsors
o Creating a budget
o Keeping budget records
Criteria:
o Must maintain a 2.8 GPA
o Must be a full time CEMB major
o Must have showcase experience

Associate Producer: Chosen by Producer
Job Duties include:
o Assists Producer in all duties (see above)
Criteria:
o Must maintain a 2.8 GPA
o Must be a full time CEMB major
o Must have showcase experience

Production Manager
This person would report directly to the show producer and would be in charge of the coordination and management of the production for the assigned showcase. Job duties would include:
o Creating and distributing the production schedule
o Working with vendors on logistics and scheduling
o Coordinating staging needs with the Curb Event Center
o Collecting and distributing input and stage plot information from the acts
o Coordinating and managing stagehands for the load in, performance, and load out
Criteria:
o Must have and maintain a 2.8 GPA
o Must be a full time AET or MB production major
o Must have completed with a C or better one of the following courses:
o AET 4590 Tour Production
o AET 3560 Sound Reinforcement

Lighting Designer/Director
This person would report to both the Show Producer and the Production Manager and would be in charge of the design and direction of the assigned showcase lighting system. Job duties would include:
o Design of the show lighting system within the set equipment and budget parameters
o Active participation in the load in and load out of the lighting system
o Communication with the lighting vendor in regards to gear and logistics
o Providing input for other creative (set) elements of the show
o Programming and operation of the lighting system
o Providing direction for the spotlight operator
Criteria:
o Must have and maintain a 2.8 GPA
o Must have completed with a C or better or currently enrolled in:
o AET 4590 Tour Production

Panelist Details for Insider's View Wednesday 3/21

Wednesday, March 21 at 10 AM, Insider's View will welcome the panel
"Women in the Industry." Guests include Susan Riley, A&R Word
Entertainment; Beka Calloway, A&R Razor and Tie; Judy Seale, President
Judy Seale International with Harry Chapman hosting.

Belmont Alumnus Beka Calloway got her start in the music industry in 2000
when she was hired to open and serve as Creative Director for the
Nashville offices of Deston Songs, Desmond Child's publishing company,
equipping her for her current position as Senior Director A&R at Razor
and Tie.

In 2001, Susan Riley founded Fervent Records is a part of Word Label
Group, a division of Word Entertainment, a Warner/Curb company. Riley
now serves as Senior VP of A&R and Publishing for Word Label Group.

Founded in April 2001, Judy Seale International Inc. is an
entertainment conglomerate. President / CEO, Judy G. Seale has 30
years experience in the entertainment industry. JSI Inc., is a
multi-faceted corporation with expertise in artist management,
international festival and tour production.

So how do I win that sound system? Enter your splice mix by tagging it "bucs contest." Must use at least 2 official Belmont loops from the BUCS profile. Submission must be under 3 minutes. Enter as much as you like!

Contest open through April 9th. Songs will be judged on originality, creativity, and use of Belmont theme. Entries will be presented and prizes awarded at our finale in April, TBA.

Nashville Film Festival

The Nashville Film Festival wants to give you "Eight Days to Get
Reel," April 19 – 26, 2007. We are looking for volunteers to
represent the cinematic side of Music City during this annual
celebration of the arts at Green Hills Regal Cinema.

You can assist the festival by helping to staff the volunteer booth,
monitor box office ticket sales, theater ushering, organizing and
maintaining the VIP tent, and selling NaFF merchandise and Nashville
Film Circle (NFC) memberships.

Volunteer shifts are 4 hours long, with volunteers earning 1 ticket
voucher (good for a film or panel/workshop) per shift they work.

We have launched a new website and added a more comprehensive sign up
form that will allow you to request the times and the areas you would

AET Course Registration Information

The process for AET course registration has changed. Instead of signing up on a “wait list” you will now be able register for AET courses online during priority registration.

We have set BannerWeb to check your major and all pre-requisites for the AET courses. This new online registration process is similar to and will have the same result as the audio sign up ranking process that we have used in previous semesters.

Also, please note that you will NOT be allowed to take more than TWO AET courses per semester. If you try to register for more than TWO, then you will be automatically dropped from the third AET course in which you registered.

Priority registration dates are as follows:

Senior April 23rd
Junior April 24th
Sophomore April 25th
Freshman April 26th
