Study Abroad

CHINA

Next Monday (2/5) is the absolute deadline to apply for the China Summer Study Abroad program. Interested students should contact David Moser (moserd@mail.belmont.edu or 460-5439) as soon as possible for information.

LONDON

An informatioin session on the London trip this summer will be held on Wednesday, February 7th at 10 a.m. in Wheeler Humanities Building Room 209. This session will include information about the "European Music Business" course as well as other courses offered in London and other international programs.

CONGRATS!!

One or our ASCAP Writers' Series winners will be performing this Saturday as part of the Hall of Fame's Songwriter's Sessions. Bobby Hamrick will be featured during the noon hour at the museum and will perform original compositions, discuss the stories behind his songs, and describe his experiences as a student in this field.

The first ASCAP Writers' Night for this semester will take place next Tuesday, February 6 at 6pm in the Curb Cafe.

THIS WEEK'S INSIDER'S VIEW

Wednesday, January 31st's Insider's View will welcome Joey Elwood,President of Gotee Records, 6:30 P.M. in MPAC. Elwood, along with Toby McKeehan (also known as TobyMac), began Gotee Records in 1994 and have since developed a label excelling in musical diversity. Gotee is home to artists such as Relient K, Family Force Five, Ayiesha Woods, Jennifer Knapp and many more who encompass all types of music genres. Come hear Elwood talk about how he strives to make his career and company a "positive voice from this generation to the next" and how he took the entrepreneurial leap to start Gotee Records.

SUMMER STUDY IN LONDON

This summer the Curb Entertainment and Music Business College will offer a course in London, "The European Music Business," taught by Dr. Don Cusic. In addition, students may take "Media Systems: U.S. and U.K." and "The British Media" and "Linking British and American Popular Music" for Music Business credit. Additionally, there are a
number of other classes which can be taken; classes in Literature, Theatre, Political Science, Psychology, Marketing, Geography and History are offered.
